Stuck in the craw of the 1990s
Refusing to get out of that craw
Nightmares of denim march forth
Showing off the scars from the men from last night
To the man from tonight with the catcher’s mitt jaw
You’ve got a nerve or two squatting on my porch
I’ll end this party with an Irish Goodbye
I’ll end this party with hell from on high
By helicopter, by parachute
I’ll end this party with an Irish Goodbye
I’ll end this party with mud in yr eye
By helicopter, by any means
This is the sequel to The Wreck of the Ella Fitzgerald
I finally washed back onto the shore
And decided on vengeance
Why do the writers in my life always have an excuse
Why do the fans of my work always come up a bore
Why do you keep coming back here for yr unearned comeuppance
The comeuppance you earned was never yours
There’s a mighty cinematic sweep in the songs on the latest from Badlands, the big and imposing orchestration with dreamlike vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 27, 2022
Riveting and hypnotic, “Exit Simulation” has the same sense of mystery as the best trip-hop, topped with ghostly vocal melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 10, 2023
When my CD copy arrived in the mail I was actually already listening to the digital version for maybe the 3rd time. The whole thing is just so beautiful and triumphant sounding the entire way through. It has the exact energy I need right now in my life. I'll have to add a favorite track later, its so hard to choose. Thank you Al for the music. janieryan
